Julia Robinson Mathematics Festival at the University of FloridaOn September 14, the Harn Museum of Art at the University of Florida hosted a Julia Robinson Mathematics Festival, in which K-12 students were challenged to think critically and have fun exploring mathematical concepts with interactive, hands-on activities. This festival was co-organized by SCMB researcher Peter Bubenik of the University of Florida. Festivals occur throughout the country and are locally organized events. Bubenik is a senior researcher at SCMB. He is a mathematician working in topological data analysis, and currently collaborating with Hang Lu of Georgia Tech to understand the genetic control of morphological phenotype in their SCMB-funded seed project.
