As Interim Dean I want to welcome everyone and wish you well as we begin a new academic term.
This is a time of significant change for us all, with Dean Royster stepping down after almost a decade of tireless devotion to the College and President Cabrera arriving to take the reins from President Peterson. We were able to express our love and gratitude to Dean Royster at a beautiful sendoff on August 27 that showcased her achievements and put on display the many ways in which the liberal arts at Tech help make this a great university.
Georgia Tech recognizes that solutions to big global problems require the essential competencies fostered in the liberal arts. Technology alone is never enough. This message is catching on with colleagues and students all across campus. Student enrollment in our degree programs has risen 40% in the last five years, and our research profile is more visible than ever. Ivan Allen College is on a roll. Let's keep it going.
