Visitor Access to Coda

*********************************
There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Functionally the new site is identical to the old one. webteam@gatech.edu

Coda is different by design, and there are a variety of occupants throughout the building – each with unique building access credentials. As such, Georgia Tech and Portman are currently testing a universal access system to accommodate a range of visitors. Until this system is up and running, please refer to the following guidelines for providing building access to your visitors.

One-Time or Infrequent Visitors:
  • Request access for one-time or infrequent visitors in ServiceNow – note that ServiceNow is a secured site and you must log in using your GT username and password.
    • This request should be made at least 24 hours in advance.
    • Ensure visitors have your contact information.
  • In the case of an unexpected visitor, security will call you to grant access. Please ensure your visitor has accurate and timely contact information to facilitate this process.
Student Visitors (for Faculty Office Hours):
  • Students are provided building access via class enrollment data from the Registrar’s Office.
  • Students will have access to the building and academic and research suites from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
  • If a student needs access that was not granted by the Registrar’s Office, use the directions below for frequent visitors.
Frequent Faculty and Staff Visitors with Georgia Tech BuzzCard:
  • Request access for frequent faculty and staff visitors in ServiceNow – note that ServiceNow is a secured site and you must log in using your GT username and password.
    • Choose the visitor name from drop-down selection and select the group they are visiting.
    • In the comments indicate that they are frequent or long-term visitors for your area and provide the access end date.
  • Frequent Visitors, who do not have a Georgia Tech issued BuzzCard, will need to be sponsored as an affiliate by the department and follow these guidelines to be granted a BuzzCard. Without a BuzzCard, these visitors must follow the One-Time or Infrequent Visitor request process in ServiceNow – see instructions above.

Please direct your visitors to the Coda website (coda.gatech.edu/find-us) for directions and parking information. Building occupants can find more visitor information including reserving parking and validations at ServiceNow.
