VOICE Peer Education ProgramVOICE is Georgia Tech's sexual and relationship violence prevention and survivor support initiative. It is a campus-wide initiative based in the Office of Health Initiatives and founded on the premise that everyone has the right to live and learn at Georgia Tech, free of violence or the threat of violence. This initiative seeks to create a campus culture that promotes respect, communication, and equity among the Georgia Tech community. More information on VOICE can be found at voice.gatech.edu.
VOICE Peer Educators are undergraduate or graduate students at Georgia Tech who complete a semester of training to prepare them to be leaders on campus in educating their peers about topics such as defining consent, sexual violence prevention and bystander intervention, healthy relationships, and survivor support. The VOICE Peer Education Program looks for diverse and dedicated students who are interested in creating a safe and equitable environment for all members of the Georgia Tech Community.
Strong candidates for the Peer Education Program will have some baseline knowledge of the issue of sexual violence on college campuses, as well as public speaking skills. Students should be prepared to dedicate three to five hours per week throughout the 2019-2020 academic year.
Required On-Campus Retreats
Retreat 1: Monday, September 23rd (6pm-9pm – dinner provided)
Retreat 2: Saturday, September 28th (10am-2pm -- Lunch provided)
Weekly meetings will be Monday nights (6-7pm) – start date September 30th
