Metz, France | Posted: February 5, 2019
Metz, France, the host city of Georgia Tech-Lorraine, was voted the 4th out of the 20 cities in the European Best Destinations 2019 competition and, for those who have studied there, it is easy to understand why. Between the breathtaking cathedral with the largest span of stained glass in the world, the Centre Pompidou Metz (a branch of the larger art museum in Paris), the river views, and the history of the area, Metz is not to be overlooked. Beating out big, well-known cities around Europe including Paris and Barcelona, Metz received 52,569 votes from travelers around the world. The competition also included a photo portion for which participants voting for Metz posted their best photos of the city along with the hashtag Je Vote Metz!
