Dr. Vicki Birchfield, Co-Director of the Center for European and Transatlantic Studies and Professor at the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs, Georgia Institute of Technology and Georgia Tech-Lorraine, created a ten-week study abroad program focused on the European Union’s past, present and future.
The first 4 weeks of the program are spent on the Georgia Tech-Lorraine campus in Metz, France where the students visit French landmarks such as Versailles (read about the visit here), Omaha Beach, and Mt. Saint Michel, with trips to nearby countries such as Germany and Strasbourg. The program provides once-in-a-lifetime experiences such as visiting the Parliament in Strasbourg or having lunch with the President of the Department of Moselle at a government building in downtown Metz.
