Congratulations parents and families — your student is off to college! We know that this change brings a certain level of uncertainty for both you and your student, but we want to put you at ease: They got this. You got this. We got this.
One thing you will realize very quickly is that Georgia Tech cares a great deal about the success of your student (see Whole-Person Education) while they’re at Tech, and giving them the skills to be successful once they’ve graduated and start their careers. This is where the Office of Undergraduate Education (OUE) comes in.
Is your student interested in research opportunities, innovation competitions, Living Learning Communities, or campus-wide first-year programs?
The Center for Academic Enrichment (CAE), located in the Clough Undergraduate Learning Commons, fosters student growth by delivering research and innovation programs, academic seminars, campus-wide engagement programs, and other opportunities for students to share ideas, explore possibilities, and take initiative.
Does your student want to stay proactive with their coursework through 1-to-1 tutoring, Peer-Led Undergraduate Study, or academic coaching sessions?
The Center for Academic Success (CAS), located in the Clough Undergraduate Learn Commons, supports undergraduate students in achieving their academic goals through a range of both personalized and campus-wide initiatives.
Does your student want a more in-depth learning experience and to live in a community of people just like them?
The Honors Program (HP) combines the challenging academic standards of one of the world's finest research universities with the student-faculty connections one might expect to find at smaller colleges. Its mission is to create a lively environment where students and faculty members learn from each other through a common commitment to intellectual inquiry, careful analysis, and energetic exchange of ideas.
Is your student interested in sustainable communities, and how they can use their degree to impact the world around them?
The Center for Serve-Learn-Sustain (SLS) helps students to learn about, serve, and create sustainable communities. SLS advances students’ knowledge and capabilities to prepare them to address sustainability challenges and interrelated community-level societal needs.
Is your student interested in available careers in their major, internships or co-ops, or pursuing a degree in teaching, medicine, or applying for a prestigious fellowship?
The Center for Career Discovery & Development (C2D2), located in the Bill Moore Student Success Center, provides career education, resources, experiential learning, employment, and pre-professional opportunities to all students.
Does your student need advising help?
Undergraduate Academic Advising(UAA), located in the Clough Undergraduate Learning Commons, helps students to become successful and responsible global citizens who make meaningful contributions in their communities. UAA provides respectful, responsive, informed support for students to identify and achieve their academic and professional goals.
