Hand Gestures Replace Buttons in Tech

There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. A group of researchers at the College of Computing at Georgia Tech want to do away with the keyboard. They’ve designed a wristwatch that recognizes hand gestures and uses them for touch-free control of electronic devices such as MP3 players, cell phones, and home appliances. The technology could also be used by a doctor to control a medical device during an operation. Source: Discovery Channel
