Bio: Joshua W. Walker is currently a postdoctoral fellow at the Crown Center for Middle Eastern Studies at Brandeis University and a fellow at the German Marshall Fund based in Washington, D.C. Joshua will subsequently be joining the University of Richmond's Jepson School of Leadership Studies as an Assistant Professor in International and Cross‐Cultural Leadership Studies in 2011. Joshua's work focuses on international relations and security studies with a particular emphasis on the Middle East and East Asia. Joshua received his Ph.D. in Politics and Public Policy at Princeton University where he wrote a dissertation on the role of historical memories in post‐imperial successor states' domestic and foreign policies with particular focus on Turkey and Japan. Walker is a fellow of the Pacific Council on International Policy, a former fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations and a graduate fellow at the Liechtenstein Institute on Self‐Determination and Bradley Foundation. He was a Fulbright Fellow in Ankara, Turkey, and worked for the U.S. Embassy and State Department on Turkey.
