Abstract
In this presentation, I will begin with an introduction to ARPA-E and its current focused research programs. Next, I will review emerging thermal management and energy conversion opportunities and challenges that inherently rely on innovative designs, materials, and manufacturing techniques to address problems of significance to a broad range of applications. A question and answers period at the end will provide an interactive opportunity for discussions with the seminar attendees.
Biography
Dr. Michael Ohadi is serving as a Program Director at U.S. Department of Energy (ARPA-E division) while on assigned professional leave from the University of Maryland, College Park, where he serves as a Minta Martin Professor of Engineering. He is a Fellow of ASME and ASHRAE and a recent recipient of the University of Maryland System Board of Regents Excellence in Innovation Award. His research interests focus on thermal management systems utilizing innovative designs, materials and manufacturing techniques.
