There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Functionally the new site is identical to the old one. webteam@gatech.edu

Incoming students will get their official welcome at two events this fall, and the Institute is looking for current students to serve as inspirational voices.
From now until July 8, students may apply for speaking slots at this fall’s New Student Convocation and Graduate Student Convocation. The sophomore speaker will address incoming undergraduate students, and a student speaker from any class will do the same for incoming graduate students. New Student Convocation is set for Sunday, Aug. 18, and Graduate Convocation will take place Friday, Aug. 23.
Applicants must submit a video of them delivering their entire speech by Monday, July 8, at noon. Speeches should be approximately five minutes and are meant to act as both a reflection on the speaker’s first year at Georgia Tech and as words of wisdom for new Yellow Jackets.
Those interested in applying can watch videos of previous convocation speeches, including the 2018 Sophomore Speaker and graduate Student Speaker.
For more information about requirements and eligibility, and to apply to be a convocation speaker, visit the Sophomore Speaker and Student Speaker application pages.
