There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Functionally the new site is identical to the old one. webteam@gatech.edu

Abstract:
The objective of the proposed research is to explore non-invasive sensing methodologies and a set of robust algorithms to monitor cardiovascular health and validate wearable sensing modalities in stratifying clinical status for patients with heart failure. First, the performance of different cardiogenic body vibration-based sensors and efficacy of sensor fusion are assessed to estimate cardiac timing intervals, which can predict cardiac contractility changes. Second, gas exchange variables from the cardiopulmonary stress test --a gold standard tool to stratify disease risk in heart failure --are estimated using features from signals recorded by a wearable sensor. As part of the proposed work, intra-cardiac and pulmonary blood pressure changes from right-heart catheterization with intravenous drug infusion will be estimated using signals obtained by a wearable sensor for patients with heart failure. These technologies can enable remote health monitoring for patients with cardiovascular disease to enable personalized titration of care and monitoring of medication adherence.
