There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Functionally the new site is identical to the old one. webteam@gatech.edu

Title: Nano-Newton Force Transduction using Soft Sensors
Committee:
Dr. Brand, Advisor
Dr. Bakir, Chair
Dr. Lam
Abstract:
The objective of the proposed research is to develop piezoresistive sensing platforms for high-throughput force measurement of single blood platelets. In particular, a piezoresistive transducer embedded in a soft biocompatible polymer will be developed that features nN force resolution in an ultra-small form factor appropriate for blood platelets. This project will aim to develop a device which could be replicated in a large array and connected to proper electronics to allow measurement of thousands of cells in a matter of seconds.
