A Venn diagram of ballet and business analytics would find Heather Arentson positioned firmly in the intersection.
She describes it as a "tour jeté" of sorts. She made the decision to pivot her career from professional dance to a degree in analytics. The former ballerina is graduating this spring from Tech’s Online Master of Science in Analytics program.
Despite having no formal training in computer programming, she completed the program in two years and has already secured a fulltime job as a data analyst.
“As I was looking to transition out of my ballet career, I knew I needed to go back to school and that I wanted to study something technical with broad, real-world applications,” Arentson said. “Analytics fits this bill perfectly.”
