CISTP invites you to attend a lunch and lecture with Dr. Robert Kennedy presenting, "Congress, the President, and War". Dr. Kennedy's most recent book, "The Road to War" will be available for purchase and for signing as well.

Robert Kennedy, PhD, a former senior official in the U.S. Department of Defense, is a founding member and professor in The Sam Nunn School of International Affairs. Among his former positions, Dr. Kennedy has served as a foreign affairs officer at the U.S. Arms Control and Disarmament Agency, Dwight D. Eisenhower Professor of National Security Studies at the U.S. Army War College, and Civilian Deputy Commandant of the NATO Defense College in Rome. From November 1997 until December 2002, Dr. Kennedy served as Director of the Marshall European Center in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany. In 2003, he returned to the faculty as Professor of International Affairs at Georgia Tech. Dr. Kennedy also served as an enlisted man in the Army and, following graduation from the U.S. Air Force Academy, served as a pilot with the U.S. Air Force.

Dr. Kennedy has been the recipient of many honors and awards, including the Joint Distinguished Civilian Service Award, Chairman, Joint Chief of Staff (2002) and Pentru Merit, Commander, awarded by the President of Romania for assisting Romania in integrating into the European structures (2002).

Author of numerous publications on several continents, his most recent works are Of Knowledge and Power: the Complexities of National Intelligence (2008); "The Elements of Strategic Thinking" in Gabriel Marcella, ed. Teaching Strategy: Challenge and Response (2010); and The Road to War: Congress' Historic Abdication of Responsibility (2010).
