MGT 4811 - Organizational Leadership Speaker Forum is a 1 credit course that can be taken up to three times. The course is structured around Georgia Tech’s Impact Speaker Series. During the weeks when there is a speaker the class consists of attending the talks, with the remaining four class meetings focused on discussing key leadership concepts and summarizing the lessons learned from the series.
Each semester the Impact provides students an opportunity to hear from 10 organizational leaders from various sectors of the economy. Past speakers include: CEO’s, Presidents, and high level executives from WalMart, The Home Depot, NCR, Georgia Pacific, Goodwill Industries, Hands on Atlanta, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, as well as successful entrepreneurs and venture capitalists. The talks focus on organizational opportunities and challenges relating to leadership, innovation, sustainability, CSR, organizational effectiveness, and implementing change.

Students will be evaluated on their participation during the Impact talks and weekly reflection posts and will be required to read a book and connect the main topics of the book with some of the overarching themes in the Impact talks.
