Georgia Tech faculty and graduate students attended the inaugural Smokies Cognition & Neuroscience Symposium (SCANS) in Asheville, NC April 11-13 2019. SCANS is an informal conference for cognitive and neuroscience laboratories in the Great Smokey Mountain states of Georgia, North Carolina, and Tennessee.
Organized by conference sponsors: Duke University, Emory University, Georgia Institute of Technology, University of North Carolina, and Vanderbilt University. Conference speakers included cognitive neuroscientists from conference sponsors covering work in perception, attention, memory, language, control processes, and emotional motivation.
