SimTigrate Design Lab Associate Director Jennifer DuBose will be presenting a webinar on using design research to find ways to keep healthcare workers safe on Thursday, April 25, at 3 p.m. EDT. Joining her will be Maria Wong Sala, a grad student and candidate for her MS in human-computer interaction, a researcher at SimTigrate.
The webinar, titled Automating Safety – How Design Research Can Reveal Solutions for Safe Environment, is being presented in conjunction with The Center for Health Design.
The webinar as described on their website:
“By combining observation, interviews, simulation, and rapid prototyping, this team developed design solutions that help healthcare workers stay safe while engaged in challenging tasks. This webinar brings the experience of the healthcare practitioners who cared for Ebola patients during the 2014 outbreak and introduces a human-centered discovery approach developed by design researchers at SimTigrate Design Lab to define the design requirements of spaces where the risk of self- and cross-contamination is the highest. In this presentation, presenters will share the results of the second phase of a large research study funded by the CDC on doffing of personal protective equipment (PPE) and guidelines for the design of critical environments.”
The webinar runs 60 minutes and costs $65 for individual views and $150 for a group view.
