Weber Building Re-roof Through July

There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Building #84 Weber I, located at 281 Ferst Drive NW, is getting a new roof, to be completed by mid-July. Construction will require a portion of the service parking lot, located behind Weber & J.S. Building #84 Weber I, located at 281 Ferst Drive NW, is getting a new roof, to be completed by mid-July. Construction will require a portion of the service parking lot, located behind Weber & J.S. Coon buildings, to be cordoned off for a boom crane. Construction is expected to last through mid-July. 

Project Impacts:

  • Fencing around the perimeter of building and a portion of the service parking lot ,(reserved Visitor Parking for J.S. Coon will be maintained)
  • Strategic closing of stairs immediately at the main entrance of the building to funnel pedestrians to safe access at the west end of the building
  • Displaced service vehicles relocating temporarily to one side of Cherry Street 
  • The side exit of the building, leading out to the bus drop/pick-up area will be maintained for egress with overhead protection
