Will Jimerson, Human Resources manager for the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts, has been awarded the Georgia Institute of Technology’s 2019 Excellence Award. Georgia Tech’s Office of Human Resources bestowed the honor upon Jimerson for his work ethic, professionalism, and collegiality.

“Will has earned the personal trust of the staff he supervises as well as those in leadership whom he supports. He is equally as willing to help answer phones and set up a lunch event as he is to assist a Chair in making a hire,” Ivan Allen College Dean Jacqueline Royster said.

“He is as kind as he is competent, as caring as he is hard-working, and his contributions to the college are tangible not only in the many and substantial ways he has made a difference in process and protocol for the college, but also in the rapport and good-will he has cultivated.”

The Excellence Award is given based on a number of criteria, such as an employee’s involvement in transformative and larger scale efforts, ability to achieve results that impact a large constituency of Georgia Tech employees, and their willingness to take on any responsibility to achieve success.

Jimerson was recognized for the award during the annual Ivan Allen College awards luncheon on Tuesday, April, 16. Georgia Tech presented him the award during the annual Faculty and Staff Honors Luncheon held April 19. Three Ivan Allen faculty members were presented awards at the luncheon.
