The Workshop on Operations Research for Global Logistics emphasizes operations research models and techniques for global logistics involving Africa. Interaction between Africa and the rest of the world, whether in the form of trade or tourism, requires efficient logistics just as much as interaction between other parts of the world. In addition, logistics is a particularly important requirement for development in Africa.
The workshop is a joint effort involving the Georgia Institute of Technology, the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) in South Africa, and the National Science Foundation.
