An interactive look into the arena of software quality and some of the factors that influence it. We will also look at the pitfalls to achieving software quality and provide techniques to deal with software as an art form.
Mr. Jones is the Quality Manager at UPS and has more than 21 years of experience in the computer industry. His education includes an associate in Electrical Engineering Technology, A Bachelors in Computer Science, A Masters in Quality Assurance, and he is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Business Administration. Jay has specific expertise in management, process engineering, software engineering, software quality assurance, quality systems, software services, software development, software testing, project management and ISO 9000 registration. Professional Certifications include: QAI Certified Software Test Engineer, ASQ Certified Quality Auditor, ASQ Certified Software Quality Engineer, SEI Certified Personal Software Process Instructor, and Certified Lead ISO Auditor.
Mr. Jones is also the current Chair-Elect of the Atlanta Section of the American Society for Quality

The Atlanta Area Deming Study Group is quality-minded volunteers who meet the
second Monday evening of each month, 6:30 P.M. to 9:00 P.M., on the Georgia
Tech campus in the Instructional Center, Room 205, downtown Atlanta. Regular
meetings are open to the public, generally without fee. Annual individual
memberships are available for $25.00. Make checks payable to Atlanta Area
Deming Study Group, or AADSG.

From I-20 East or West to downtown Atlanta:
Take I-75/85 North.
From I-75/85 North or South to downtown Atlanta:
Take the exit to 10th Street.
Go west on 10th Street, passing through several traffic lights.
Come to a traffic light at Hemphill Avenue, a 4- lane intersecting street.
Turn left onto Hemphill and travel south until Hemphill ends at Ferst Drive.
Turn right onto Ferst Drive.
Immediately after turning right, locate on your left...
Landmark #1: Manufacturing Research Center (MaRC), then
Landmark #2: The new Erskine Love (Mechanical Engineering) building, then
Landmark #3: a red brick 3- building complex directly across the street from
the Natatorium and Student Athletic Complex (SAC).
The Instructional Center is the rear building in this 3- building complex.
Enter either the north or south end of the Instructional Center building.
Take the stairs to the second floor to locate Room 205.
Parking:
Park on the street in the area of your sighting the 3- building complex. Please
note that the parking meters along the street require no money after 5 PM -- it
is recommended that you park at a meter if you can find an open space.
