Greg Blekherman (Georgia Tech) is giving an invited plenary talk titled "Do Sums of Squares Dream of Free Resolutions?" and organizing a special session on "Applications of Algebraic Geometry" with Michael Burr, (Clemson) and Tianran Chen (Auburn University at Montgomery).

Natasha Jonoska (South Florida) and Christine Heitsch (Georgia Tech) are giving extended talks in the special session on "Algebraic and Discrete Methods in Mathematical Biology" organized by Carina Curto (Penn State, Katherine Morrison (Northern Colorado), and Nora Youngs (Colby College) in conjunction with Curto's invited plenary talkĀ  titled "Graphs, network motifs, and threshold-linear algebra in the brain."
