There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. This is the inaugural talk in a planned Seminar Series in Natural Systems. The idea is to create a seminar series by top-notch researchers and practitioners whose work has very broad applicability and which has already, or will likely, stimulate an interdisciplinary flow of ideas to or from natural systems.
Such speakers would likely include, but not be restricted to, biologists whose work may hold valuable lessons and new insights for IE, and business/industry more generally; consultants and researchers involved in the cutting edge field of swarm intelligence who actively may take inspiration from nature for (NP-)hard problem solving; and industry practitioners, keen to transform operations more to a closed-loop organic organization.
