Mary Frank Fox, ADVANCE Professor at the School of Public Policy, was invited last month to participate in the National Academies of Sciences’ Workshop launching a new study on “Addressing the Underrepresentation of Women in Science, Engineering, and Medicine.” The study seeks to understand institutional barriers to the representation of women in scientific fields, and to identify the most successful policies, practices, and strategies in opening doors to women’s participation in the fields.  The project will result in a National Academies Report to be issued in 2019/20.
