The Georgia Tech Center for Education Integrating Science Mathematics and Computing (CEISMC) at Georgia Tech is seeking dynamic individuals for its 2019-20 Innovators-in-Residence cohort. Residencies are from June 1, 2019, to May 31, 2020. "Innovators" receive $20 per hour per week including paid training in April 2019.

Innovators will be partnered with teachers at one of metro Atlanta's K-12 schools to develop and implement quality Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics (STEAM) curriculums. Innovators will work to create student-centered projects, as well as support engaging STEAM-focused afterschool programs.

Although candidates are not required to have any formal background or training in the field of education, they all should have a passion for K-12 STEAM education along with tinkering, designing, inventing, making, and integrating arts into STEM learning. Candidates with a background in Computer-Science or Mathematics are especially encouraged to apply.

To support pedagogical development, Innovators are required to participate in online problem-based learning training, intensive summer professional development. Candidates must be available during school day hours and attend bi-weekly meetings focused on collaboration across the cohort. Each innovator is also required to create a portfolio of the work completed during their residency.

Innovators will be interacting with minors and must adhere to all regulatory compliance issues while working with CEISMC including but not limited to a criminal background check, appropriate pre-screening and training on working with minors.

Apply online at https://bit.ly/2NQPmdp
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis starting March 1, 2019.
