The KNIT Mentorship program aims to engage, empower, and prepare our newest students as they transition to becoming a part of the Georgia Tech Community.

KNIT Mentor Applications are due on February 19th at 11:59 p.m.

Requirements & Expectations

  1. I understand that I must be in good standing with Georgia Tech and maintain a 2.3 GPA. 

  2. I understand the quality and scope of any mentoring partnership is largely determined by the commitment and quality of communication between myself and any mentee I am paired with.

  3. I understand that I will need to be personally accountable and professional with a sense of timeliness, accessibility, and respectfulness.

  4. I understand that the KNIT Mentorship Program will be hosting events throughout the year and that I will commit to attend, and encourage my mentee to attend along with me. 

  5.  I understand that to be paired with a mentee I must attend all general mentor trainings, and any supplemental trainings for special mentoring programs.

  6. I understand that to be paired with a mentee, I must be present at the pairing party on September 9th, 2019.

  7. I understand that I am committing to meet with my knitting circle once a month and mentee face to face once every two weeks, and will complete any assigned deliverables.

  8. I understand that I will be required to share my ideas and experiences as a Georgia Tech Undergraduate with my mentee(s), and will commit to a mutual relationship of entering someone else's world to hear about their dreams and challenges.

  9. I understand that I am required to meet with my mentees outside of the KNIT organized events.

  10. I will notify Jordan Conway (jordan.conway@studentlife.gatech.edu) confidentially if I perceive that one of the mentees needs professional assistance or support.

  11. I understand that trust is fundamental to building sound relationships with and between mentors and mentees and, thus, agree to ethically protect the confidentiality of the students by avoiding talking about them to other students.

  12. I understand that my involvement in the KNIT Mentorship Program is at the discretion of the KNIT Mentorship Program administrators and that the administrators reserve the right to terminate my participation at any time.

  13. I give the KNIT Mentorship Program permission to share my name, email address, and phone number with my student mentee(s).
