Three finalists have been chosen in the College of Sciences dean search. As part of the final selection process, each candidate will visit campus and present an open seminar addressing their broad vision for the College of Sciences. The hour-long seminars are open to all students, faculty, and staff. Interested individuals can attend in person, watch real-time via livestream, or watch a post-event video of each candidate presentation.

The finalists are included below in order of their campus seminar presentations:

  • M. Susan Lozier, distinguished professor of ocean sciences at Duke University and president-elect of the American Geophysical Union, will present an open seminar on Monday, March 4, at 11 a.m. in the Global Learning Center, Room 236.
  • Rodolfo H. Torres, University Distinguished Professor of mathematics at the University of Kansas and co-chair of the Human Resources Advisory Committee of the Mathematical Sciences Research Institute, Berkeley, will present an open seminar on Wednesday, March 6, at 11 a.m. in the Global Learning Center, Room 236.
  • Kevin Pitts, professor of physics and vice provost for Undergraduate Education at the University of Illinois, will present an open seminar on Monday, March 11, at 11 a.m. in the Global Learning Center, Room 236.

Surveys for the College of Sciences dean search will be available through midnight on Thursday, March 14.
