Statistics Seminar:: Easy-to-Construct Confidence Bands for Comparing Two Simple Linear Regression Lines

There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Functionally the new site is identical to the old one. webteam@gatech.edu

Full Summary: Statistics Seminar:: Easy-to-Construct Confidence Bands for Comparing Two Simple Linear Regression Lines

This talk shows how to construct confidence bands for the
difference between two simple linear regression lines. These
confidence bands can be used as a formal test of the difference
between the two regression lines over an interval of interest, as
well as providing an indication of the magnitude of the difference
between the regression lines. Various different shapes of
confidence bands are illustrated, and particular attention is paid
towards confidence bands whose construction only involves critical
points from standard distributions so that they are consequently
easy to construct.
