The Machine Learning Center at Georgia Tech invites you to attend a talk featuring Oliver Brdicka, an AI Architect at Adobe as a part of our spring series, "Inside the Industry." The event will be held in Clough Undergraduate Learning Commons 152 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. and is open to the public. The talk will be followed by a Q&A session about Contextual AI and AI @ Adobe.

TITLE
Contextual AI - The Next Frontier Towards Human-Centric Artificial Intelligence

ABSTRACT
This talk motivates a more human-centric wave of AI, dubbed Contextual AI.  Contextual AI does not refer to a specific algorithm or machine learning method - instead, it takes a human-centric view and approach to AI. The core is the definition of a set of requirements that enable a symbiotic relationship between AI and humans. Adobe is at the forefront of this new wave enabling creatives to leverage and interact with AI more naturally during the human creative process. We will illustrate what Adobe is doing in the space with a number of examples, including deep learning for content understanding and neural stylization, and demos of Adobe’s Creative Assistant https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bq4z2LtgANw.

BIO
A pioneer at the intersection of artificial intelligence and human-computer interaction, Oliver specializes in designing and building AI systems that understand and respond to human behavior, relying on data from various sensors. During his career, Oliver has designed systems and managed teams at Adobe, Xerox PARC, INRIA, XRCE and founded his own company stella.ai.  Recent applications of his work include intelligent contextual assistants, as part of the DARPA PAL program (commercialized as SIRI and meshin.com), and human personality prediction, as part of the DARPA ADAMS program (commercialized as part of IBM Watson). In 2017, Oliver joined Adobe as AI Architect building their intelligent assistant that will be used by millions of users.
