No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Happy New Year, Yellow Jacket Parents! The Office of International Education (OIE) is excited to kick off a new year with you and your students! Around here, the new year gets underway quickly, and that starts with academic year, fall, and summer study abroad deadlines — many of which occur in early February (individual program details can be found here). Now is a great time for your student to make an appointment with a Study Abroad, Global Internship, or International Plan Advisor to answer any questions and begin the application process. There are also a number of events designed to inform students about international opportunities at Tech.
International Opportunities Open House
January 24, 1:30 – 4 p.m., Student Center Peachtree Room
Students are invited to meet with OIE’s Peer Advisors to ask questions about study abroad programs, Global Internships, and the International Plan. For more information, visit http://oie.gatech.edu/.
OIE Administered Scholarships Deadline (LAST DEADLINE FOR SUMMER 2019 FUNDING): February 15

Finally, we wanted to send you all a quick update on International Education Week (IEW), which takes place annually during the third week of November. In 2018, IEW featured more than 40 events with a record attendance of over 2,000 participants! Every year OIE hosts cultural events and study abroad information sessions, and invites local diplomats to talk about the importance of being a global citizen. This year was no different and we hope to continue increasing the scope of this celebration in the future.
