Lecture Topic | Focused on the Future
As Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) recently celebrated its Centennial year, we took this milestone as an opportunity to not only look back at the achievements of our association and its members over the last 100 years, but also an opportunity to evaluate what we will need to do to be relevant to our members for the next century.
Our industry is undergoing quite a bit of disruption, due in large part to exponential changes in technology and innovation. We are simultaneously being challenged by a severe shortage of qualified labor, both in the trades and in our supervisory ranks.
We must embrace the technological advances and innovation as a means to continue to put work in place with the reduced workforce. Our colleges and universities will need to adapt to these changes as well and will need to be closely aligned with the needs of our industry to provide graduates with the tools they need to be successful.
