In many offices, Monday mornings and 3 p.m. have something in common — they’re often loathed. Whether it’s the traffic, stacks of emails, or a slump after a day of meetings, these times are notoriously unmotivating.

At least, for some people that is. At Georgia Tech, there are a collection of individuals and teams silently pushing through these lulls to create the next employee workforce. They might go unrecognized, but they rarely go unnoticed.

You probably know who we’re talking about. We’re hoping you can point them out to us.

Each year, Georgia Tech asks employees to nominate co-workers and team members who demonstrate excellence in their work and their attitude.

These Staff Awards are a small token of acknowledgment and appreciation. Even though they’re funded by Georgia Tech, they are meaningful because of you — because you noticed enough to tell them in a big way.

All employees are encouraged to submit a nomination, either for a coworker or themselves, from now until Feb. 8, 2019. Don’t let the process stop you — it’s been simplified:

  1. Select the award you are interested in.
  2. Answer the questions.
  3. Get three letters of support.

“The awards process was revamped last year to make it easier to nominate,” said Candice Bovian, worklife specialist and Staff Awards manager. “This is a great way to recognize our coworkers who go beyond their regular responsibilities to bring about positive change to Tech and/or their community.”
