Come join us for an empowering talk, "Living a Purposeful Life: Solving Hard Problems," by Bill McGahan, Founder and CEO, GeorgiaWorks!

Bill McGahan worked in investment before founding Georgia Works!, a residential program putting chronically homeless men in Atlanta back to work. Bill founded Georgia Works! because he believes every life has value, and virtually every person can be given the tools and habits to make their lives better.  Before creating the nonprofit, Bill worked in investment at Reit Management and Research as the senior officer of Management Company for five public companies.  He ran two regions of the company with over $4 billion of real estate. He also worked at UBS Securities as the Vice Chairman, and at Citibank, as the Managing Director.

Bill attended the University of Virginia for his Master’s in Business Administration, graduating in the top 5% of class. He attended Southern Methodist University for his undergrad and received his Bachelors of Science in Economics with a Math minor.

Bill is involved in many other nonprofits and charities including: Board Member of State Housing Trust Fund for the Homeless (Georgia); State of Georgia Balance of State Homeless Continuum of Care, The Howard School, Former Board Member The Atlanta Academy, Community Co-Chair Governor’s Office of Transition, Support and Reentry For Ex-Offenders, Founder and Chairman of Changing Lives in Guatemala, Former Chairman of the Board of From Houses to Homes, Former Board Member of The National Foundation For Facial Reconstruction. In his spare time Bill mountain climbs, he has summited 6 of the seven summits, which are the tallest mountains on each continent (Kilimanjaro, Elbrus, Denali, Kosciuszko, Vinson Massif and Aconcagua). He resides with his family in Atlanta.
