There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Functionally the new site is identical to the old one. webteam@gatech.edu

Title: Cooperative Consensus for Clock Synchronization in Wireless Sensor Networks

Abstract:
The objective of the proposed research is to design and experimentally validate a novel network time synchronization (NTS) algorithm based on ‘cooperative-consensus’ (CoCo) that replaces one-by-one aggregation in a consensus approach with one-shot averaging of many node responses in the physical (PHY) layer. We design an OFDM-based PHY layer to achieve an approximate sample mean provided by the semi-cooperative spectrum fusion (SCSF) technique from concurrent transmissions. We evaluate CoCo using computer simulations and plan to implement on software-defined radios (SDRs) to validate and compare with state of the art NTS protocols such as Average TimeSync (ATS).
