The Office of International Education (OIE) has seen robust growth in its outgoing exchanges and with this growth, participation in Georgia Tech’s International Plan (IP) has continued to expand as well. This important program allows students to spend 26 weeks outside the U.S. through an internship, study, or research abroad program. Students take three globally focused courses, complete a global capstone, and develop proficiency in a foreign language. The IP fosters intercultural sensitivity, cross-cultural communication skills, the ability to approach problems from multiple perspectives, and a global understanding of their discipline. To read more about this fantastic program and get a student’s point of view, check out this article.

As the semester winds down and folks can take a break, now is a great time to plan for the year ahead. OIE has some wonderful resources to aid in the planning and preparation for a study abroad experience. We host a blog and a podcast that feature our Peer Advisors who share about their international experiences. We encourage students planning to study abroad in 2019 to take advantage of these resources and to finalize their plans soon, as deadlines are fast approaching.
