Latham SaddlerLatham Saddler, an alumnus of the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs, was selected as a White House Fellow for the White House Office of Economic Initiatives.
As the 2018-19 White House Fellow, Latham will spend a year working full-time and paid for senior members in the White House Office of Economic Initiatives. He will also have the opportunity to participate in an education program, which will consist of roundtable discussions with leaders from the private and public sector, and trips to study U.S. policy, both domestically and internationally.
The White House Fellowship is one of America’s most prestigious programs for public service and leadership. This opportunity gives individuals first-hand experience working at the highest levels of the federal government. The mission of this fellowship is to encourage active citizenship and service to the nation.
Latham received this prestigious fellowship in recognition of his top-notch education and career. He joined the Sam Nunn School in 2007 after completing his Bachelor’s of Business Economics from the University of Georgia and working for IBM Corporation. Following graduation from the Nunn School master’s program in 2010, he enlisted in the United States Navy and is currently a Special Warfare (SEAL) Officer in the Navy Reserve. He previously served active duty on both the East and West Coast Navy SEAL Teams and was deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq.
After serving active duty, Latham worked as a director for Intelligence Programs for the National Security Council. He currently serves as term member for the Council on Foreign Relations. Latham is fluent in both Persian-Farsi and Dari. During his studies at Georgia Tech, he was awarded the CyberCorps Scholarship for Service and the Boren Fellowship to study Persian. He then completed a master’s degree in Persian Studies at the University of Maryland - College Park.
