As its fourth full year of operation winds down, the Georgia Tech Staff Council anticipates the arrival of four new faces and two returning ones in 2019.

October’s election brought the following six staff members onto the Council to serve three-year terms beginning in January:

Administrative and Professional

  • Sterling Dunkley, talent consultant senior, Workforce Strategy, Human Resources
  • Byron Fitch, consultant, Strategic Consulting
  • Quinae Ford, administrative manager, Facilities
  • Chris Walker, assistant director for client marketing, Professional Education

Skilled Trades

  • Mark Battle, groundskeeper, Facilities Management
  • David Brown, electrician, Facilities Management

As a part of the Council’s bylaws, members are permitted to serve up to two consecutive three-year terms. David Brown and Quinae Ford will both begin their second terms in January, while the others begin their first term. Brown will also serve as chair of the group in 2019, succeeding Cara-Joy Wong.

“Going into our fifth year, the Council is incredibly fortunate to have support from both our fellow colleagues and executive leadership, and we look forward to continuing our momentum with David leading the group next year,” said Wong, senior project support specialist for the Office of the Provost.

The same number of members in each area have completed their service to the Council to make room for new participation. The following members have completed their elected service to the Council:

Administrative and Professional

  • Tina Clonts
  • Tonia Valeck
  • Cara-Joy Wong

Information Technology

  • Anthony Bridges

Skilled Trades

  • Michael Dean
