With over 15,000 undergraduate students, six colleges, and more than 30 majors, the Georgia Tech community is a large and unique group.
Meet Sara Jensen – B.S. Business Administration, Spanish Minor, Class of 2021
Hometown – Valdosta, Georgia
I chose to attend Georgia Tech because when I visited, I loved the environment of people. It was clear to me that everyone was hardworking, down-to-earth, and talented in so many ways. I also knew I wanted to be a business major, and Scheller is ranked the No. 1 best undergraduate business school in Georgia and No. 11 in the country according to Poets & Quants for Undergrads 2017.
First, Scheller is such a great environment. All the students are so talented, involved, and motivated. The environment is encouraging but challenging, which helps to prepare students for future jobs.
I also love that business majors are required to take the introductory classes for each concentration. This provides students with a strong knowledge of the different aspects of business, which is vital for success. Also, in taking various types of business classes, I will have a better idea of what I want to do in my career.
Lastly, the professors and advisors are amazing. They are very approachable and welcoming to all students and try to help us succeed.
I am the sophomore advisor for FreShGA – a freshman leadership organization that focuses on developing the leadership skills of a group of first-year students, fostering friendships, and creating memories that last well beyond your first year. I am also a member of the Society of Women in Business and the Catholic Student Organization.
I love that there is a good mix of city and nature. I love walking around Piedmont Park or doing outdoor activities, but I also love that there are a lot of restaurants, concerts, and different options that you don't have in a smaller town.
