There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Functionally the new site is identical to the old one. webteam@gatech.edu

With over 15,000 undergraduate students, six colleges, and more than 30 majors, the Georgia Tech community is a large and unique group.
Meet Lucy Grant – B.S. Physics, Class of 2021
Hometown – Atlanta, Georgia
Above all, it’s the opportunities that it affords. I am getting a degree in physics and I intend to eventually pursue a career in research, but with my degree I could do anything I wanted. Physics is a very versatile science, because it is the foundation of a lot of other disciplines, which opens many different doors for me.
After I graduate, I intend to go to graduate school to pursue a more specialized master’s and Ph.D. in physics, specifically soft matter and topological research (the study of materials, their properties and shapes, and how the physics of them contributes to their use). I eventually want to work in the research field.
Even though I've lived here for 19 years, I still can go out and find something new and exciting that I've never done before.
In my free time, I like to hang out on Tech Green and walk around campus to see all of the animals and everything going on. There's something about a crowded and vibrant campus that just makes me happy.
