Meet Ashley Thomas – B.S. History, Technology, and Society, Class of 2022

Hometown – Marietta, Georgia

Why did you choose to study History, Technology, and Society?

I chose my major because I loved the flexibility of it. I was drawn to the concentrations in medical history and sociology, but with this major, I can study many more areas than that, from urban issues to sports history.

What do you plan to do after graduation?

After I graduate, I hope to get a master’s degree in public health. I would love to work for the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. Most importantly, I want to make an impact on the health of a community, and I’m open to any opportunities that would allow me to do so.

What are you involved with on campus?

I am a member of the Georgia Tech Marching Band and the Undergraduate Public Health Association. My favorite experience so far has been the band's pregame tradition of warming up and playing at the Kessler Campanile.

What do you enjoy doing outside of classes?

I love visiting the Georgia Aquarium and playing music, particularly the flute.
