Ivan Allen College School of Economics Professor Thomas "Danny" Boston is one of the "top academic economists" asked to convene at the White House October 5th to discuss the Obama Administration’s efforts to spur economic recovery and job creation. The White House Council of Economic Advisers will ask Boston and his fellow economists to share their views about the economy and ideas for additional policy options.

Boston is the national authority on economic issues related to minorities, minority businesses, low income housing, and community development.  He has provided consul and/or testimony to U.S. congressional subcommittees and consults extensively with the U.S. Department of Commerce and the Small Business Adminstration, and with international and national organizations including ING Financial Services; the Inter-American Development Bank, and the United Nations Educational, Social and Cultural Organization.  He has served on the Council of Economic Advisors for Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin, and on committees under other Atlanta mayors and also has served under multiple Georgia governors on state committees examining such important issues as the state tax structure and the state welfare system.
