Summaries

Summary Sentence: A workshop for faculty and staff around unconscious bias

Full Summary: No summary paragraph submitted.

Leaders and participants learn to increase connection, create psychological safety and inclusive workplaces where diverse employees experience belonging, and therefore become more productive. During this session, leaders:

  • reckon with the truth of bias as well as common fears and feelings we all have when discussing  bias
  • examine their unique “in-group” and “out-group” identities, and bias blind-spots and triggers
  • learn how to rise from existing stories, scripts and beliefs to increase  psychological safety using the Rising StrongTM process based on the research of Brené Brown, Ph.D
  • identify additional evidence-based techniques to mitigate bias

This workshop is open to all Georgia Tech faculty and staff members.
