The Georgia Institute of Technology Communication Center partnered with the Southeastern Writing Center Association (SWCA) to host a forum for writing center tutors and administrators on Sept. 15, 2018. This forum served as a networking opportunity for center administrators and tutors across the state of Georgia, a brainstorming session for writing center improvement, and a workshop session for the SWCA conference. Breakout sessions allowed participants to delve into topics such as helping non-traditional students, facilitating faculty outreach, defining leadership roles for undergraduate tutors, creating data-driven research projects, etc. Participants left the forum with ideas for their center as well as ideas for conference proposals.
The Communication Center is affiliated with the School of Literature, Media, and Communication, which is a unit of the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts.
