"Memayu Hayuning Bawana" is a Javanese ethical concept that signifies human responsibility to sustain beauty, peace, and well-being of the spiritual and physical worlds.
For our special 21st Anniversary Concert, the Emory ensemble will feature Gamelan Master Darsono Hadiraharjo (Cornell University). We will perform a musical selection from Central Java's traditional repetoire and an original piece composed by Darsono. Join us in this celebration and immerse yourself in the shimmering layers of Indonesian gamelan music.
