Upcoming Spring Classes on Korean Culture

There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. KOR 3823: Korea Today (3 Credits)
Tuesday/Thursday, 1:30-2:45

Taught in English using a variety of materials (films, dramas, novels, comics) for students wanting to gain an understanding of how South Korea conducts business, science, education and recreates its past and present to export Korean culture, k-pop, and soft power.

 

KOR 3813: North and South Korean Cultures and Society (3 Credits)
Tuesday/Thursday, 12:00-1:15

Taught in English, the course surveys the vastly different societal developments of the two Koreas over 70 years and the past, present and future roles of the United States, China and Japan in the region.
