In life, tension and failure are inevitable – it’s how we deal with adversity that transforms us. Five storytellers will share true, personal stories exploring how they've navigated failure, jealousy, and redemption, and found peace in unexpected places. Among them is School of Chemistry and Biochemistry's Mike Evans

Evans serves as the laboratory coordinator for first-year chemistry at Georgia Tech, where he also teaches courses in organic chemistry.

Outside of class, Evans is a member of the science punk rock band Leucine Zipper and the Zinc Fingers, where he plays bass as his genetically modified clone, X.O. Therm. The band just released a new album, Atomic Anarchy, which is available now.

Following are the storytellers on October 9th:

  • Tricia Hersey, community activist
  • Nusaiba Baker, activist and biomedical engineer
  • Sarah Frankhauser, biologist
  • Alison Hastings, yoga and mediation instructor
  • Mike Evans, chemist
