The TAPPI Student Chapter at Georgia Tech (GT TAPPI) held its inaugural career fair on Friday, September 14th. 12 company representatives from 6 companies met with students and collected resumes from TAPPI student chapter members. Georgia-Pacific, International Paper, Caraustar, and Buckman sponsored the event which included a nice chicken and eggplant parmesan dinner for students and reps. Both Graphic Packaging and Kapstone also collected resumes at the event.
The GT TAPPI vision is to be the top talent pool for the forest products, pulp, paper, packaging and related industries. This career fair highlighted our strong undergraduate talent pool and all company representatives were impressed with the strong TAPPI candidates.
National TAPPI representatives, Lisa Stephens and Priscilla Briggs attended the career fair to help introduce students to the many TAPPI resources available for career development.
This fair was a team effort by the executive board of GT TAPPI with Luke Hammock (Director of Industry) and Mike Stellato (Vice-President) taking lead. We are already looking forward to 2019 for our 2nd Annual GT TAPPI Career Fair.
