There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Functionally the new site is identical to the old one. webteam@gatech.edu

Mobile devices are everywhere—and smartphones and tablets have the potential to transform the way we teach and learn. How can we leverage their versatile touch interfaces and powerful computational capabilities to create new learning opportunities for students?
During this Teaching with Technology Spotlight session, Dr. Julián J. Rímoli, Associate Professor of Aerospace Engineering, will share his experiences with developing Truss Me!, an educational game that challenges players to engineer the lightest possible "moon lander vehicle" in the shortest period of time. Dr. Rímoli will discuss how he used the game to engage students with course content and foster deeper learning-while making learning fun. He will also discuss the philosophy behind the design of the game as well as lessons learned regarding its implementation in a classroom setting.
Join us in this session for a discussion on how to harness the capabilities of mobiles to create and deliver educational content for more engaging, interesting, and effective learning!
Lunch will be provided and please register.
