No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Blending the tactile with the visual, the inaugural Fast Film Fest is coming soon. Using paper as the basis of animations, participants will create a "fast film"- created, filmed, and edited in a two week period between October 24 and November 7, 2018.
To kick-off the Festival, Dr. Patrick Ellis will lead a screening and talk on the history of paper animation on Friday, October 12 at 6pm. The talk is free and open to the public. Dr. Ellis is a Brittain Fellow at Georgia Tech and film history is one of his areas of specialty. He has a PhD in film and media from the University of California, Berkeley.
